Today was 14th February 2010...the day of lovers all over the world and all that crap! No one really knows the history behind this festival but still EVERYONE celebrates it with fervor...u will see weird advertisements on television painting pretty pictures of "the" day of the year...i even heard extremely stupid Rose Petal ads on the radio..i mean what does a tissue have to do with a proposal?!!!
I went to Lake View Park today...we witnessed the antics of all the crazy looking desi blokes who were TRYING their best to look their best and score a "bachi" (read: girl) which explains why they are still very much single and the nightmare of all mothers.
I am posting here a link that might clear the history behind Valentine's day. Since it is based on what a certain St. Valentine did, i do not intend to recognize it as a Muslim festival and neither do i plan on celebrating it. So there goes your answer: no, i did not get any Valentines today.
